Old National Gallery is an art gallery that exhibits a plethora of artwork pertaining to various genres and artists. The artworks that range from different styles including early Modernist, Impressionist, Romantic among others, are pertinent to a group of museums called the Berlin State Museums in the city of Berlin. Although the plans for the establishing the gallery cropped up as early as 1815, creation of the gallery commenced in early 1860's. The architecture of the building is predominantly in neo-classical and neo-renaissance styles. It has been acclaimed by the critics for its impressive assemblage of 19th century art - including sculptures and paintings, alike. This famous gallery is an integral part of Berlin's Museum Island.
